DESCRIPTION

This moon jar is a tangible memory of the ebb and flow of the tide. Imagine the salt beach as the water retreats, leaving behind intricate patterns etched in the sand and mud – that's the essence this piece captures.

Hand-built from stoneware and burnished to a smooth finish, it's then transformed by smoke, creating a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow reminiscent of water's delicate dance with the land.

Whether it graces your home by complementing other loved items or stands alone as an earthy sculpture, this jar evokes the quiet beauty of nature's artistry.

Let 'Water's Edge' bring a touch of serene coastal charm into your space.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

The low temperature firing technique that allows the fire to combine with the clay means that the pots are porous and should not be used to contain food or liquids.
Smoke fired work should be kept out of direct or strong light, as you would for example water colour paintings, wood and photography. As no glaze is used, the pots have been finished off with a matt UV protection sealant and a light coating of bees wax to help protect it. Gentle handling and buffing with a soft cloth maintains the patina.
