DESCRIPTION
This moon jar, titled Wind on Tide, embodies the serene dance of air and water. Its surface mirrors the soft, swirling patterns found along the shore when the wind sweeps across a receding tide, leaving behind intricate imprints in the sand.
Handcrafted from stoneware, its smooth curves evoke the gentle caress of the elements, while the smoke firing technique introduces an ethereal play of light and shadow across its form. The subtle marbling of whites and earthy browns suggests the fleeting nature of wind’s touch upon the ocean, capturing a moment of balance between movement and stillness.
Whether displayed as a standalone statement or nestled among cherished pieces, Wind on Tide offers a quiet reflection of nature’s harmonious rhythms. It invites you to pause, breathe, and feel the eternal presence of wind and water in the spaces we inhabit.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
The low temperature firing technique that allows the fire to combine with the clay means that the pots are porous and should not be used to contain food or liquids.
Smoke fired work should be kept out of direct or strong light, as you would for example water colour paintings, wood and photography. As no glaze is used, the pots have been finished off with a matt UV protection sealant and a light coating of bees wax to help protect it. Gentle handling and buffing with a soft cloth maintains the patina.
