SMOKE-KISSED CERAMICS EMBRACING THE IMPERMANENCE OF NATURE
Moira Goodall
Rooted in the captivating landscape of the Blackwater Estuary, Moira's work is an ode to the ever-changing colors, textures, and light of the tidal beaches. Inspired by the soft curves and clean lines of Danish design, her creations embody the essence of Scandinavian simplicity.
Based in a tranquil village on the Blackwater Estuary coast, Moira (formerly a marketing communications professional) found her calling in ceramics over 20 years ago. Following a City and Guilds Diploma in 3D art, she has honed her craft, becoming a Selected Member of the Anglian Potters, Suffolk Craft Society, and Craft Potters Association. Her work has graced galleries across the UK, from Essex to London and beyond.
'I FIND SOLACE IN THE WILD BEACH, ALLOWING THE SURROUNDINGS TO INFUSE MY WORK WITH THE ESSENCE OF NATURE'S FLEETING BEAUTY.'
Each piece is a testament to the wabi-sabi philosophy, celebrating the beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and incompleteness. The rawness of smoke-firing techniques imbues Moira’s work with an earthy depth and ethereal quality, while her minimalist aesthetic allows the organic textures to take center stage.
