ABOUT THE ARTIST
Katharina Hager has been captivated by creativity since her childhood, always seeking ways to express herself through hands-on creation. While her professional journey led her through computer science and marketing, she never abandoned her artistic pursuits. Graphic design became a constant companion, reflecting her deep creative inclinations. However, it was ceramic art that truly captivated her, leading her to dedicate herself to clay and the creation of organic, natural forms.
Katharina has become a renowned figure within ceramic art inspiring others to immerse themselves in play and having successfully published two books on mindful creation.
DESCRIPTION
Like delicate thoughts taking flight, the clay forms unfurl across the canvas. Each delicate arc and loop suggests a journey, a dance between inner reflection and the unfolding of the material. The piece whispers of introspection, of seeking clarity amidst a landscape of ideas, of finding one's place in the ever-shifting currents of thought.
Calm Soul is part of the "mind" line by Katharina, which is the visual reflection of the inner world. Piece by piece, Katharina adds the clay to increasingly complex forms, letting it flow in different directions and following what wants to emerge. The forms that emerge are never predetermined - they develop through the process of layering, assembling and letting go. It is a game between the inner journey and the outer unfolding of the material. The line reflects an inner search: Where do I stand? Am I returning to my origins, or am I venturing into something new? The forms grow and change, and Katharina grows with them.
