ABOUT THE ARTIST
Teresa Lobelia D’Arienzo, a graduate of the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, is a celebrated ceramic artist known for her sculptural pieces that explore balance, fragility, and movement. DESCRIPTION
The Amphora series deconstructs the ancient vessel form, transforming it from a functional container into a delicate, suspended structure of torn ceramic tiles. Once thick clay is now powdered and rebuilt into thin elements that seem to chase and group together, seeking balance yet remaining just out of reach. Full yet transparent, the shapes blur the boundaries between skin and texture, blending fragility with force.
The work evokes lightness, reminding us that even the most solid forms can be reduced and reformed, freeing movement within matter. Amphora meditates on balance, fragility, and the liberation of form from tradition.
