Sara Dodd is an award-winning ceramic artist based in London, celebrated for her innovative approach to porcelain clay. A graduate of Cardiff Metropolitan University, she has earned recognition for her innovative ceramic practice that merges fine art with craft. Working from her studio in London, she uses liquid porcelain clay to create delicate, layered forms that capture the fleeting interplay of light and texture, drawing inspiration from nature and traditional techniques.

Sara is a prominent figure in contemporary ceramics, having received the Rosalind Stracey Ceramics Award in 2022 and an honorable mention at the International KOGEI Crafts Awards in 2021. Her work has been featured in notable exhibitions, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and Elle Decoration, solidifying her place among the rising stars of modern craftsmanship.

Decipher is an intricate exploration of texture and form, realized through long, hand-rolled porcelain ribbons that twist and cluster in organic yet deliberate patterns. Each ribbon, a testament to the artist’s meditative process, is worked carefully by hand before being fired at a high temperature of 1260°C. The resulting porcelain forms are then seamlessly interwoven, creating a continuous surface that invites the eye to trace its delicate, endless pathways. There is no clear start or finish, no definitive focal point, only a mesmerizing flow that pulls the viewer deeper into its abstract narrative.
